Islamic New Year 1436

It’s been about 1436 years now since the Muslims, led by prophet Mohamed (Peace be upon him), migrated from Mecca to Madina, marking a very important point in the history of Islam. According to Umm Ulqura calendar, Saturday October 25th, 2014 is Muharram 1st 1436 (Hijri/Islamic new year day). We would like to wish you a Happy New Hijri Year. May ALLAH make it a blessed, happy and joyful year for you all. May ALLAH bring you prosperity, success, great health and great E’iman (faith), Insha’Allah.

The first ten days of Muharram are among the best times to fast and worship during the year, especially fasting the 9th and 10th days of Muharram. Imam Mahmoud talked briefly about at the end of today Friday Khutbah of October 24th, 2014 (watch video below). Click here to read more about the virtue of fasting Muharram 10th “Ashura”.
