Mawlid an-Nabawi at ICCP

On the 12th day of the 3rd month “Rabi’ al-Awwal” of the Islamic calendar, many Muslims commemorate the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) which mark Tuesday January 14th, 2014 on the Georgian calendar. ICCP Sunday school will commemorate this blessed day with Quran recitation, Islamic nasheed, essays or skits that present important teachings or events in the Prophet life. The event will include awards to the students for their academic achievement.

Bring your family and join the teachers, students and their families at this celebration on Friday 17th, 2014 at 7:30 pm at the ICCP old Masjid, Insha’Allah.

Some Muslims refrain from participating in this type of celebration, feeling it is an innovation which places too much emphasis on the human Prophet and distracts from the true divine source of revelation. ICCP view this event as an opportunity to teach our youth and children about the Prophet (peace be upon him) way of life, which all Muslims seek to follow, children will learn about the character and life of the Prophet, examine the way he dealt with important moral issues, how he handled challenges, and how he responded to his enemies and his friends.

Note: No Friday Halaqa on this day.
