Research Participants Needed

Dr. Adam Cohen an associate professor at ASU department of psychology and a team of researchers are seeking participants for a study to understand how people understand stories, he reached out to ICCP seeking assistance in circulating the following announcement to ICCP community.

“Dear Sir or Madam,

We would like to invite you to participate in research we are doing at Arizona State University. We are trying to better understand how people understand stories, and the role of the brain in that. We are currently looking for individuals who would be willing to undergo an MRI (a harmless brain scan), or to participate in other research. This would take place later in the Spring and Summer of 2013 and you would be compensated for your time. The study would take place at the Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph’s hospital in downtown Phoenix, and take about 2 hours from start to finish. Our research is being funded by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).

All responses will be kept confidential and used only for the purposes of seeing if individuals qualify to participate in this research. If you qualify, we will be in touch with further details.

If you do qualify for the MRI study and you choose to participate, you will be paid $100 for your time and $25 for travel. We will also provide you with free parking for the study. And, if you wish, you can receive an actual picture of your brain! The study would take about 2 hours.

If you do not qualify for the MRI study we could still invite you to participate in other research, for which you would also receive compensation.
