HOPE FOR THE HOLY LAND

Speakers:

DaDanny Shermannny Sherman is an organizational consultant and policy analyst with a rich background in strategic and policy planning. In his more than 20 years of professional experience, he has worked at B’Tselem – the Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories, SHATIL, the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, the Mandel Foundation, and the Negev Institute for Strategies of Peace and Development. He also served as a senior general staff officer in the Israel Defense Forces, where he worked on the peace process.

Sami AwadSami Awad is the Executive Director of Holy Land Trust (HLT), a Palestinian nonprofit organization which he founded in 1998 in Bethlehem. HLT works with the Palestinian community at both the grassroots and leadership levels in developing nonviolent approaches that aim to end the Israeli occupation and build a future founded on the principles of nonviolence, equality, justice, and peaceful coexistence.

Mae Elise CannonMae Elise Cannon serves as the Senior Director of Advocacy & Outreach – Middle East for World Vision USA. She is a pastor, writer, and academic who cares deeply about God’s heart for the poor and the oppressed. She is the author of Social Justice Handbook: Small Steps for a Better World (IVP, 2009) and Just Spirituality: How Faith Practices Fuel Social Action (IVP, 2012).
